A few thoughts

At eighty two years of age there isn’t much time left to tell all of you about my blogging, then again ….. they say just because there is snow on the roof  doesn’t mean the fire is out. Dam sure of that!!

First let me tell you….. 75 years ago I wouldn’t have thought of saying ‘Damn’, ‘Bum’ or speaking out of turn.  I often think what would have happened when I was young, when I see young girls walking down the street showing their belly button. ….You would have been arrested and charged with indecent exposure!!!!

It has taken me sixty years to pluck up the courage to write a children’s book…..and I hear you ask what happened for me to decide to write? Well……

I had a friend come to visit me with her five year old. My husband and I of 61 years saved hard to buy a new lounge suite.  The day before the visit of my friend my beautiful lounge had arrived.   The first thing this kid did when she came in with her mother was to jump straight onto my lounge and over the back, dragged her shoes down the material of the lounge. She had stretched the material and it lay limp, well I saw red! “Don’t you dare climb over my lounge.  Look what you have done to my new lounge I shouted” “Sit down and don’t move.”

It was from that day (along with many others over the years) that I then knew I had to get the word out and write about “Good Manners”..lol
